CAS Wiring and GReddy TB Inlet

Finished Goods

Made a bracket out of .5mm thick CF sheet for the CAS connector. Used 2x existing M8 holes, together with Downstar washers and some specially sourced bolts (low profile socket heads, ~14mm thread length).

Straight shot of the 2x bolt holes I used.
Close up shot of the bracket/hardware.

I then started work on mounting the FD UIM. Going to be a lengthy process, but planning on doing it right the 1st time to avoid issues at the track. Plan is to make it super serviceable and robust.

Top Down view of the FD UIM

To adapt the S6 manifold on to the S4 lower, I’m using a SP Engineering adapter plate. They’ve been out of business for a while (bought this around 2017?), and I doubt these can be found anywhere. I designed an adapter myself, and put the CAD files on the RX7 Club forums but going with the SP unit was much cheaper.

GReddy Throttle Body Inlet Pipe – FD RX-7

Going to use this old GReddy pipe that I bought off some guy on the forums. I bought all these parts around 2016~2017 but just now getting around to installing them. Plan with the inlet pipe is cut off the Injector Bungs, cap the barb fitting and install my Syanpse BOV. Also, I chopped off the small diameter end of the pipe, so I can have a free-flowing 3″ section thought the intercooler cold side.

Bracket Drawing

Bonus Pic! May as well post up the drawing I made to then print as a template for cutting the carbon fiber sheet.

Cage Mocked

Cage is dialed in, ended up warping quite a bit from welding. When it was tacked together, everything fit perfectly snugged like I designed, but once everything was fully welded, the main hoop got skewed and needed some finessing to bolt back in.

Next up, paint. Going to go with a light blue / teal color, and going to try and clear coat it with 2K Spray Can Clear.
